Basic in my workflow, WriteRoom to LaTeX
I am writing a lot, spend a lot of time (certainly too much) on things like writing articles and my PhD, and WriteRoom is part for years of my workflow. Because using LaTeX for the formatting stuff, I tested some just writing programs, with really distract-less surface (there are several), and this was the best for me, the most customizable with important features. Gut durchdacht.
Great features:
- unobtrusive session count, (time, words, pages, gives you a feeling of reward)
- a Full screen single option: usefull if you have to deactivate Single spaces (I have to do it to unfold a huge mindmap on two screens)
- Audio to input, means = I have typewriter sounds for keystroke, delete and return. For somebody grown up with that sound, it helps me to feel I am writing
- I have configured inmediate save for writing, and the files are synced, so I am live-writing to the cloud = I do not loose 2 minutes of work if my computer collapses
- Absolutely stable
I was a SimpleText user, and over that program I got to this one. Congrats to the developer, and thank you.
